May the fourth bring you burgers! 🍔🚀
Burgers, sides and shakes … It's what we do best! Whether it's indulgently cheesy (Easy cheesy), reminiscent of your childhood/a nod to nostalgia (Fairy bread shake), a dessert lover's dream (Choc waffle sandwich), or even a little bit controversial (Licorice Smallsort shake). We pride ourselves on bringing you the most epic flavour sensations! 💫
That's why in the past, we've combined our love for getting creative in the kitchen with a certain much adored iconic film franchise, so that we could send your tastebuds to a gourmet galaxy far, far away. In honour of May the fourth, we're taking a trip down memory lane back to some of our future focused menu creations.
The first of our innovative burgers, Blob of feta stunned the world (well atleast NZ) with its striking green bun and futuristic taste profile. Featuring NZ beef with cheese, whipped rescued beetroot feta, hand-crafted tortilla shell and cos lettuce, topped with Shake Out Special sauce, and a pickle, tomato and red onion rescued salsa, all wedged between a soft green spinach bun. It was our most galactic burger yet.
Darth cherry cola shake vs. O-B cola shake
Then came the shake wars... taking on the fight between the light side vs the dark side.
Darth cherry cola shake ~ a blast of dark sour rescued cherry & NZ soft serve blend. With shattered sour cherry lolly, space grey cola shake & cream. Mysteriously deep in flavour, this shake exceeded the sour-o-meter!
O-B cola shake ~ fighting for the light side, this petite yet mighty treat combined cola syrup & NZ dairy. An out of this world spin on the classic soda spider!
The pull of the dark side was strong with this one and we fell for its temptations of power. We couldn't quite get to The Empire and so instead collaborated with local suppliers using ingredients grown locally in the dark (or on the dark side) to bring you this alluring and exceptionally delicious combo.
‘The Hemp Burger Strikes Back’ special edition combo ~ featuring Darth mushie burger 1.0, Woke-E shake, Samurai fries with a wasabi kick and Grow grow soda a special edition lychee flavoured kefir live probiotic soda.
Like it's iconic villain counterpart, the Darth mushie burger returned for menu instalment #2, much to the delight of movie fans and burger aficionados alike. Heroing a delicious combination of umami flavours and earthy, charred ingredients inspired by the bold ‘flavours’ of Darth Vader’s character.
Darth mushie burger 2.0 ~ Featured juicy NZ beef and cheese, layered with marinated NZ grown portobello mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, creamy cheese sauce and a charcoal black rub. It's smoky richness echoed the intensity of Darth’s transformation into the legendary Sith Lord, following his fateful duel with Obi Wan Kenobi.
E-woke shake
To balance the flavours of the dark side, E-woke shake dropped in, our most up-lifting drink yet! Featuring coffee, chocolate and AM functional mushrooms to bring a kick to your step!
Rich and full bodied with a slight earthy flavour - the E-woke shake acted as a playful reference to the fictional creatures ‘Ewoks’ and the act of waking up with the invigorating power of coffee and functional shrooms.
May the fourth has allowed us to go big on creativity, exploring galaxies far, far away for exciting and innovative meal creations. Journeying between the light side and dark side to bring bold flavours which inspire feelings of nostalgia from an iconic film franchise.
